Day 25 Update

Wandering Affection

Word Count: 8,023

I have yet to touch the first draft as the words added was just the edits that I made throughout it. This is one of my heavily edited chapters.

It’s a nightmare to read.

I was already changing what I already edited in red given that it doesn’t look quite right. It was more explaining rather than getting in the headspace of the characters there. There is a phenomenon in this novella where you can recall the memories of your incarnation while sleeping, called Soul Walking. It is not a guarantee that you’ll remember what happened. How often do you remember dreams if you don’t remember them? Anyway Soul Walking is essential in here, given that this is a romance novella.

There was one downside while editing today: eyestrain. It’s pitiful and I need to remember to actually put space when I am physically editing in order to be kinder to myself in the future.

Fun fact, while I am only on page 18 in draft one, I am on page 26 for the second draft. With the rate I am going, I might have an additional 50 pages compared to the first draft.

Anyway I am going to take a break as of now. Stare at the ceiling for a few minutes. Stay hydrated everyone because if I have to drink you must as well.

Perhaps I should create a post called “Sit Hydrate and Write’s Social Contract to All Readers” in the future? If only I could enforce it.

All joking aside, everyone, please take care of yourselves. The things that you can do to effect the world is small, but the effort you place for your body or the environment you are in currently is massive. COVID-19 has challenged all of us, and the most important thing we can do is take care of our mental health as of now.
