Normally I wouldn’t post anything like this, but it is out of the norm of my day-to-day life. As I was driving in the morning my horn began to blare, three rapid shots, that grew silent before my alarm began to go off not even a minute later. It startled me and I had to go pull off to a parkinglot where I had to call my guy, asking him what the problem is. I pressed that red blinking button for about a minute in hopes to reset it. I also had to leave the car, lock it with the key, and unlock it with the same rather than using the button.
It worked. Somewhat.
I was heading home as I realized that I forgot my work phone and just as I was putting the car into drive, it reversed. Okay, strange. I’ve been driving for years, but it could have been a mistake. The stick was on drive. Something’s up again. I placed it in park and the car continued to roll slowly backward unless I hit the break or had the emergency break up. So I pulled the emergency break as I made another phone call, first to my boss saying that my car broke down so I won’t be able to make it, before calling my guy again. He came and looked it over. We both found out that the key won’t even turn the ignition, it was locked. So that was fun, but we positioned the car to be parking in between two spaces because before it was stranded in the middle of the parking lot, in the area where when you are entering it someone could hit me if they didn’t notice.
He managed to get it to the shop after dropping me off (thank god) and found out that the cord that was connecting to the gear shift was loose which was why it was going backward. Not sure why the key didn’t work after a while but he said that cars are built like that so that you don’t mess with it as much.
I don’t understand cars and he’s the expert. So long story short, car got fixed and I hope that none of you guys experience something like that in your life. I am not going to lie, I was panicking a bit, that’s just a me thing when something goes wrong and I don’t know how to fix it.
That was my day today. Obviously I am safe and car’s back, so I am glad about that. Make sure to take care of yourselves everyone, it can be difficult sometimes but here is your postly (I would say daily if I didn’t miss every other day) reminder to drink water. Seriously drink it, and also get some food if you haven’t eaten yet. Drinking my own glass of water just to stay hydrated.
